Bryson's In a Sunburned Country know, Australia is a country where every branch of the animal family tree has at least a few deadly members - from crocodiles to jelly fish to spiders. Interestingly, according to this exhibit in the Melbourne Museum, since the 1980s when the last anti venom was developed, there have been no deaths due to venomous insect bites.
